A 12 Million Year Old Fish
This fossil of a fish was found on the side of a 4 million year old mountain in South Dakota, sandwiched about halfway between 18 million layers of sediment. Geologists say that each layer of sediment was laid down one year at a time.
There are persons known as Creationists who insist that the earth is only 6,000 years old, give or take a few hundred years. They say that the above fish is less then 6,000 years old.
Therefore either:
Layers of sediment are not laid down, one year at a time (we know that
this could not be true).
or
The devil is trying to fool scientists into believing that the earth is
older than 6,000 years by putting a less than 6,000 year old fish in between
18 million layers of fake sediment. (Why would God let the devil do
that?)
or
God is trying to fool scientists into believing that the earth is older
than 6,000 years by putting a less than 6,000 year old fish between 18 million
layers of fake sediment. (Do we have such a deceptive
God?)
or
The creationists are dead wrong and the world was created in a process that took much longer than 6,000 years!
